Region: Western Cordillera
Description: Cordillera is famous for its mountains. There are three mountain ranges in the region: the Rocky Mountains, the Columbia Mountains, and the Coastal Mountains. Many deep valleys, plateaus, and coastal islands are found in this region. Lot's of parts of Cordillera, unlike some other regions, Cordillera is still covered in forests. Many of the lakes and rivers are famous and very beautiful. Pacific Ocean is on the west side of this region.
Geologic Process of Formation:The Western American Cordillera goes from Alaska to Mexico. The Cordillera was formed 80 million years ago and formed the rocky mountains. The collision of tectonic plates was responsible for the formation, and the area is still active today.
